Adobe, in its attempt to change the world through digital experiences, takes a step forward and acquires Frame.io. Frame.io allows key project stakeholders and video editors to collaborate using cloud-first workflows. It streamlines the creative process by centralizing assets and feedback in the cloud so that remote creative teams can collaborate securely from anywhere in real-time.

The new acquisition will further empower the video editing process as Adobe’s industry will combine leading creative software with Frame.io’s review and approval functionality. We predict that the amalgamation will bring tremendous growth to video creation and consumption.

Behind a good video goes the hard work of the entire video team, along with agencies and clients. With the ever-increasing volume of content, video workflows cannot afford to be disjointed. Frame.io allows real-time footage upload, access, and in-line stakeholder collaboration to offer a secure and elegant experience across surfaces.

“Frame.io and Adobe share a vision for the future of video creation and collaboration that brings together Adobe’s strength in video creation and production and Frame.io’s cloud-native platform,” said Emery Wells, Frame.io co-founder, and CEO. “We’re excited to join Adobe to continue to drive video innovation for the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, agencies, and brands.”

With remote work culture gaining prominence, dependency on collaboration and tools that aid it will increase. Frame.io will make it easy for teams to collaborate across Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications. It makes working on recent innovations for creative collaboration easier and also helps reduce proximity within teams. With the combination of Frame.io and Adobe, Adobe Creative Cloud applications will also run smoothly as Frame.io has built-in workflow functionality.

There will be more scope for innovation in video making with Frame.io’s robust plug-ins and third-party application support with Adobe Creative Cloud. The new system will enable collaboration across all stakeholders of creativity, beyond Adobe’s applications. This will increase the number of third-party applications across the creative ecosystem.
